The management of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), on Wednesday affirmed that 12 state government-owned tertiary institutions have been onboarded to the student loan application pool.

The Head, Media and Public Relations of the Fund, Nasir Ayitogo, in a statement averred that the onboarding followed the successful submission and verification of data completeness.

The statement read: “With this latest addition, the total number of participating state government-owned tertiary institutions has now increased from the initial 36 announced earlier to 48. Students’ data from 121 institutions is outstanding.”

The fund encouraged all institutions that are yet to submit their student’s data to the Student Verification Portal to do so to enable their students to benefit from the scheme.

The NELFUND also urged states whose data has been captured and successfully uploaded to urgently sensitise their students to apply, thereby bringing relief to students who are struggling financially while also bringing guaranteed revenue to the institutions.
