In a shocking incident, two brothers, Husaini Ali, 45, and Ya’u Ali, 20, have been arrested for allegedly killing their female neighbor, Hauwa Yusai, 55, in Kashin Dila Fulani village, Malam-Madori Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The brothers accused Yusai of witchcraft and attacked her with sticks and knives, resulting in her death.

According to the Jigawa Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the suspects are in custody and will face prosecution soon. He stated that the motive behind the killing is believed to be rooted in superstition and misinformation.

“On October 16, 2024, at 1:30 a.m., the Malam-Madori Division received a distress call regarding an assault on Hauwa Yusai. The suspects brutally beat her and stabbed her with a knife, inflicting severe injuries. She was rushed to the Hadejia General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
