23 dead, 48 injured in Kano auto crash
At least 23 persons died in an auto crash under the Muhammadu Buhari Flyover at Hotoro-Kano Road on Thursday.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Mr. Umar Matazu, confirmed the accident in a statement on Friday in Kano.
He said 48 other persons sustained injuries in the incident.
He added that a DAF truck overloaded with goods and passengers was involved in the crash which occurred at about 10:00 p.m.

Matazu said: “The passengers involved were 71 passengers, 67 adults and four children.
“The injured were taken to the Murtala Mohammed General Hospital for urgent medical treatment.”
He warned truck drivers against loading trucks with humans and animals.
