Adelabu alleges death threats over reforms in power sector
The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, said on Monday he has received numerous calls from unknown individuals opposed to the ongoing reforms in the sector.
Adelabu, a former gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, however, vowed that he would not be intimidated or bullied by those resistant to progress in the sector.
The minister, who featured in Fresh FM’s “Political Circuit” programme, said all challenges in the power sector are surmountable.
He also pointed fingers at cabals in the sector, alleging their involvement in the recent sabotage of transmission substations and power lines across the country.

The minister said: “I receive threat calls. I am the 49th power minister in the country. The past ministers were probably bullied and intimated in their work.
” It does not take ordinary people to blow up a power transmission substation with dynamites and pull down a power line.
“It is an organised crime. It is a cabal and cartel. We are all Nigerians. We will not run away from ourselves.”
