Reports reaching Ripples Nigeria indicate that the National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, Eniola Olajuni, has been set free after spending 12 days in captivity.

The development was confirmed by Biodun Aderohunmu, the National Secretary of the Youths Council, who sent a brief WhatsApp message to reporters on Saturday.

“He has been released”, the message reads.

Olajuni was kidnapped on Monday, February 17, 2025, while he was en route to Abuja for a scheduled meeting. The abductors had demanded a ransom of N100m along with two tricycles for his safe return.

Earlier this week, on Wednesday, Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, ordered the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team after a viral video emerged showing Olajuni at gunpoint, desperately appealing to Nigerians to help raise funds for his release.
