Aisha Yesufu to Ndume: Tinubu is the bad person

The co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has described President Bola Tinubu as a “bad person” in the face of the unbearable hardship in the country.

Yesufu was reacting to recent comments made by the senator representing Borno South senatorial district, Ali Ndume, on the hardship occasioned by the rise in the pump price of petrol.

Ndume had last Friday urged the president to reduce the price of petrol in the interest of Nigerians.

The lawmaker, who addressed journalists in Abuja, lamented that Nigerians are suffering because of the high cost of living in the country.

He pointed out that fuel, food, essential goods, and services are becoming unaffordable to average Nigerians.

The former Senate Chief Whip alleged that some selfish individuals in the government are inflicting pain on Nigerians under the guise of reforms.

He said: “Those who are bent on making the President look bad will stop at nothing in inflicting pain on Nigerians through the so-called reforms until things get out of hand, and the blame will be on President Tinubu.

“I believe President Tinubu means well for Nigeria and Nigerians. I know this because I know what he stands for. But some of his advisers who don’t mean well to the people of this country give him wrong advice.”

Yesufu, who reacted to the remarks in a statement posted on her X handle, said Tinubu is a bad person because he is the country’s leader.

She wrote: “Tinubu is the bad person. Call a spade a spade and not a garden implement.

“A bad person is an understatement. I said Tinubu is THE bad person.”
