Aiyedatiwa’s sacked aide denies bribery allegation

In the wake of his dismissal, Adeboye Ewenla, the former Special Assistant on Forestry for Ondo State, has firmly rejected the bribery allegations that led to his termination of appointment by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Ewenla was let go after claims from timber traders suggested his involvement in corrupt practices. However, he contends that these allegations were unfounded and part of a deliberate attempt to undermine his reputation.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Ewenla asserted, “The allegations are completely false and are designed to damage my reputation. I have been a staunch advocate against illegal activities in government forest reserves, and this is retaliation for my efforts.”

He emphasized that the funds in question relate to legal government processes, stating, “The payments discussed are for the government, not for my personal gain. The Ondo State Government has imposed strict bans on deforestation and unauthorized activities within our forest reserves.”

Despite his dismissal, Ewenla remains adamant that his integrity is intact and that he will continue to advocate for lawful practices in the state’s forestry management.
