American rapper Kanye West and global sportswear company Adidas have both reached an out-of-court settlement over a decision to drop the musician for making antisemitism remarks.

The CEO of Adidas declared that the sportswear business and the rapper had struck a friendly settlement, saying, “Whatever was is history.”

Adidas and musician Kanye West (now known as Ye) have achieved a friendly out-of-court arrangement without any financial exchange following years of legal wrangling.

“There [aren’t] any more open issues and there is no … money going either way,” the Adidas chief executive, Bjorn Gulden, told journalists on Tuesday, without giving any details of the agreement.

“There were tensions on many issues [but]… both parties said we don’t need to fight anymore,” Gulden added. “No one owes anything to anybody anymore. Whatever was is history.”

Following West’s breakup with Nike, Adidas and West first teamed up in 2014. This led to one of history’s most prosperous sportswear partnerships and helped make West a billionaire.
