Anxiety as two-storey building collapses in Lagos (Video)

A two-storey building collapsed on Amusu Street, Orile Iganmu area of Lagos State on Monday.

A video on the incident shared on X showed the moment the building collapsed with a crowd of onlookers scampering for safety.

Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Fire Service, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA), and the Nigeria Police Force have been deployed to the scene to evacuate the site to avert secondary incidents.

An official of LASEMA, who spoke to journalists, said the occupants of the building had been evacuated before the collapse.

“I can confirm to you that the incident happened this morning but there were no casualties. An evacuation already took place before the collapse,” the official said.
