Bandits kill 13 farmers in Niger

Gunmen suspected to be bandits on Wednesday killed 13 persons on their farms in the Alawa community of Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.

A resident of the community told journalists on Thursday the bandits attacked the community over allegations that locals supply information to security agencies on their movements.

The Acting Governor of Niger State, Yakubu Garba, condemned the attack in a statement in Minna.

He described the attack as satanic and callous.

The acting governor commiserated with the victims’ families, residents of the community, and the entire people of Shiroro LGA on the incident.
