Bauchi Assembly confirms 8 commissioner nominees

The Bauchi State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed eight commissioner nominees in the state.

Governor Bala Mohamed on Tuesday forwarded a list of eight nominees to the Assembly for screening and confirmation as members of the State Executive Council.

This followed the reshuffle of the cabinet.

Those confirmed on Thursday are – Isa Babayo Tilde, Abdullahi Mohammed, Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi, Usman Shehu, Dr Aliyu Gital, Prof. Ketkukah Saul, Adamu Gabarin and Dr. Mohammed Rimin-Zayam.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman, commended the lawmakers for the thorough screening exercise and described the nominees as credible and qualified.

He said the confirmation of the nominees was a significant step toward strengthening the state executive council to enhance public service delivery.

The speaker urged the commissioner-designates to live up to the governor’s expectations and propel the state to greater heights.

“We are confident that these nominees will bring their wealth of experience and expertise to bear in their respective roles.

“We expect them to work tirelessly to support the governor’s vision for the state and improve the lives of our people,” Suleiman stated.
