Bobrisky sues VeryDarkMan for N1bn over alleged defamation claims
Bobrisky, also known as Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, has initiated legal proceedings against fellow influencer VeryDarkMan, seeking N1 billion in damages for alleged defamation.
The lawsuit centers on VeryDarkMan’s recent publication of a voice recording, which Bobrisky claims to be artificial intelligence-generated which misrepresents him and has caused harm to his reputation.
In a formal legal notice, Bobrisky’s legal representatives assert that VeryDarkMan has consistently leveraged Bobrisky’s name and image to create sensational content aimed at enhancing his own social media profile.
They contend that this pattern of behavior has persisted despite warnings and should be viewed as a deliberate attempt to profit from defaming Bobrisky.
The legal notice specifically addresses claims made by VeryDarkMan in a viral video, where he alleges that various high-ranking officials—including Deputy Inspectors General of Police and lawmakers—have engaged in sexual relationships with Bobrisky. Bobrisky’s team highlights that these assertions are baseless and that no evidence has been provided to substantiate such serious allegations.
Furthermore, the notice speaks of the impact of these alleged defamatory statements on Bobrisky’s mental health and well-being. It argues that the reckless nature of VeryDarkMan’s claims infringes on Bobrisky’s rights to privacy, freedom of thought, and overall safety. Bobrisky’s team expresses dismay that VeryDarkMan has not exercised caution, despite the potential harm to Bobrisky and others mentioned in the allegations.

The lawsuit draws particular attention to the audio recording tagged ‘Ai-generated’, which VeryDarkMan presented as a legitimate conversation involving Bobrisky. The notice emphasizes that this fabricated audio is a clear act of defamation and demands its immediate removal from all platforms.
Bobrisky asserts that since the publication of the allegedly defamatory content, he has experienced immense personal and professional damage, including negative media coverage and potential loss of business opportunities. The legal notice references a video published by VeryDarkMan on September 24, 2024, in which he threatened further damaging content if his financial demands were not met.
In light of these allegations, Bobrisky’s legal team has laid out several demands, including:
1. Immediate Retraction: A formal retraction of the defamatory statements and removal of any content linking Bobrisky to the AI-generated recording.
2. Public Apology: A written apology published in two national newspapers and a video apology posted on VeryDarkMan’s social media platforms.
3. Financial Compensation: The payment of N1 billion as damages for the harm caused by the defamatory statements.
Bobrisky gave VeryDarkMan a 24-hour deadline to comply with these demands, warning that failure to do so would result in legal action.
