Boniface, Tella in action as Leverkusen hold Bayern to draw

Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface was in action for Bayer Leverkusen as they played a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich on Saturday.

The Nigerian international, who mentioned this week that he deserved to be voted the next Africa’s best player, played for 78 minutes before being substituted.

Boniface was replaced by another Nigerian Nathan Tella, but they did all they could to get the win but failed.

Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga last season, stopping German giants Bayern from extending their title-winning run to 11 in a row.

Both teams have been spectacular through the start of this season and much is expected of the teams.

Champions Leverkusen opened the scoring in the encounter when Robert Andrich before Aleksandar Pavlović scored the equaliser eight minutes after for the hosts.
