Buhari sets up commission on ease of doing business

The Presidency on Saturday debunked rumours that President Muhammadu Buhari may be indisposed health wise, and unable to carry out some duties.

There had been rumours and speculations in some sections that the president was ill, hence his vice, Yemi Osinbajo had been delegated to stand in for him in recent times.

However, his special adviser on media and publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina told Ripples Nigeria on the phone on Saturday that the president is hale, hearty, and very capable of carrying out his constitutional responsibilities.

He said, “quote me, the president is sound and going about his normal function”.

According to him, there is nothing wrong in a democracy for the president to delegate duties to whoever he wants.

There  had been speculations surrounding the president’s health, especially in recent times, when he shelved a planned visit to Lagos State, and again, when he failed to attend the flagoff of the clean up of Ogoniland.

Vice President Osinbajo who stood in for him on both occasions, is also currently in Dakar, Senegal, representing Buhari at the ECOWASS heads of State and Government Summit in that country.
