Nigerian comedian Otaghware Otas Onodjayeke, known in entertainment circles as I Go Save, has reacted to a move by the House of Representatives to block all pornographic sites.

Recall that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) was instructed by the House of Representatives on Tuesday to order all internet service providers in the nation to immediately block any websites that contain pornographic or obscene content.

Dalhatu Tafoki, a politician from Katsina State who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), sponsored the motion that led to the resolution’s passage.

In response to Tafoki’s motion, in which he characterized Nigeria as a “highly religious country” whose major religions forbid obscenity and nudity, I Go Save focused on the possible effects of this prohibition on many Nigerians.

By highlighting their identities as authentic Nigerians, the comedian also questioned if celebrities should take part in planning rallies against it.

I Go Save wrote thus on Instagram, “This porn site ban go affect many Nigerians.

‘‘Should we help them protest? Cos they are true Nigerians, too,” he added.
