Community criminals, not herdsmen behind Ebonyi killing — Gov Nwifuru
The Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has debunked reports that the February 2 deadly attack at Amagu Nkalaha in Ishielu Local Government Area of the state was carried out by Fulani herdsmen.
At least 20 people were killed and several buildings in three communities in the area were destroyed in the attack.

The governor, who spoke to journalists after a church service at the Government House Chapel on Sunday, said preliminary investigations by security agencies revealed that the assailants were ‘community criminals’ and local hoodlums and not herdsmen as initially reported.
He said: “The recent killings at Amegu Nkalaha Community were carried out by some criminal elements from within the community, not herdsmen as earlier alleged. This is an unfortunate situation.”
