The 10-member gang and armed with dangerous weapons, invaded the community located in the suburb of Yenagoa, the state capital, at about 8:00 p.m., causing residents to scamper for safety.

A resident told journalists on Thursday that the first person shot dead was the son of the former head of the community Vigilante Group.

The Youth President of the Igbogene Community, Mr. Ezekiel Igbenivie, who confirmed the incident, said those involved had fled the community.
