Death toll in Abuja fuel tanker explosion rises to 10
The death toll from Wednesday’s fuel tanker explosion in the Karu area of Abuja has increased to 10.
The Acting Director-General of the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD), Mr. Abdulrahman Mohammed, disclosed this to journalists on Thursday in Abuja.
A driver of a fuel truck lost control around Karu Bridge on his way to Nyanya along the Abuja-Keffi expressway and rammed into vehicles in traffic.
The collision led to a massive explosion in the area.
Mohammed said five victims were taken from the scene dead, with four burnt beyond recognition.
