Edo Assembly confirms Samson Osagie as justice commissioner
The Edo House of Assembly on Wednesday, confirmed the nomination of Dr Samson Osagie as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state.
Governor Monday Okpebholo on Tuesday nominated Osagie as the state’s attorney-general.
He also nominated Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole as the state’s Commissioner for Health.
Cyril is the son of former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole.

At the screening session held at the Assembly Complex in Benin City, the Speaker of the House, Blessing Agbebaku, said the nominee would not be subjected to a rigorous screening because of his status as a former member of the parliament.
He added that Osagie should be allowed to take a bow and be confirmed in line with the House’s tradition recognising contributions of former lawmakers at state and national levels.
The nominee also served as a Majority Whip in the House of Representatives.
