Philip Shuaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, on Saturday, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

This move comes after Shaibu was reinstated as deputy governor by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The defection occurred during the APC Edo State’s inauguration of the National Working Committee of the Edo governorship election meeting.

The meeting was attended by notable APC figures such as the former governor of Kano State and National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Governorship Candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

This development follows Shuaibu’s accusation that his principal, Godwin Obaseki, denied him entry into the state.
