EFCC arrests ex-Gov Darius Ishaku for alleged N9.3bn fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a former Taraba State governor, Darius Ishaku, for alleged N9.3 billion fraud, TheCable reports.
Sources told the news platform on Friday that the ex-governor has been detained by the anti-graft agency in Abuja.
Ishaku will be arraigned alongside a former permanent secretary of the bureau for local government and chieftaincy affairs in the state, Bello Yero, on a 15-count charge of criminal breach of trust and misappropriation of state funds at the Federal High Court, Abuja, in the coming days.

The commission filed the charges on Thursday.
The offences, according to the EFCC, were contrary to Section 315 of the Penal Code Act, Cap 532, Laws of the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria 2007.
Ishaku, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was governor of Taraba State from 2015 to 2023.
