Arsenal overcome Wolves after Liverpool beat Ipswich in Premier League

Arsenal and Liverpool clinched victories in their opening games of the Premier League season on Saturday.

The Gunners defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium while Liverpool saw off newly-promoted Ipswich 2-0.

Kai Havertz headed in a first-half opener for the Gunners from Bukayo Saka’s cross from the right, with the England forward adding their second after the break.

For the Reds, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah were the goalscorers as Arne Slot’s reign as Liverpool head coach began with a big victory.

Salah was the star of the game. He made the assist for the opening goal before doubling the lead for the away side five minutes after.

In other Premier League games played concurrently, Everton lost 3-0 to Brighton, Newcastle defeated Southampton 1-0 while Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth played a 1-1 draw.
