Manchester United have ended their winless run with a 2-1 victory over Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Red Devils had endured a shaky start to the season, and had gone five games across all competitions without a win.

Results so far had put a lot of pressure on manager Erik ten Hag, who would be especially happy with today’s victory at Old Trafford.

United trailed at the break thanks to Ethan Pinnock’s controversial injury time header which came while Matthijs de Ligt was off the pitch being treated for a head wound.

But at the start of the second half, Alejandro Garnacho equalised with a magnificent first-time finish to Marcus Rashford’s cross before striker Rasmus Hojlund won it for the hosts in the 62nd minute via a Bruno Fernandes assist.

Elsewhere, Arsenal were stunned by Bournemouth with two late goals by the hosts after the Gunners were reduced to 10 men from the first half.

William Saliba was sent off while Ryan Christie and substitute Justin Kluivert scored in the 70th and 79th minutes respectively as the hosts ended Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the season.

In the other Premier League games on Saturday, Newcastle lost 1-0 to visiting Brighton, Fulham lost 3-1 to Aston Villa, while Leicester City stunned hosts Southampton by coming from two goals down to win 3-2 in an epic tie.

Ipswich lost 2-0 to Everton.
