Father of gospel singer accused of be-heading girlfriend begs for his release, mother wants govt to take action
The father of self-acclaimed gospel artiste and murder suspect, Timilehin Ajayi, who was arrested for allegedly killing and mutilating a 24-year-old corps member, Salome Adaidu, has appealed for his son’s release, urging the government to intervene and resolve the matter.
Ajayi’s father who made the appeal in a video which has gone viral on social media, said though he feels bad about his son’s involvement in the sordid act of murder, he is pleading for mercy on his child’s behalf.
“I want government to help me so that the matter is settled. I want them to help me beg so that he is released,” the older Ajayi said when asked what he would like the government to do on the matter concerning his son.
“I want the government to help me settle this matter. Please, help me beg for forgiveness,” he added.
Speaking further, he recounted that his son had been performing well in school before pursuing his passion for music.

He also revealed that Timileyin had expressed a strong interest in singing, which brought him immense joy but that the news of the murder has left him deeply shaken and distressed.
However, in contrast to Timileyin’s father, his mother, Dorcas Ajayi, acknowledged the severity of the allegations against her son, saying the government should take every necessary action it deems fit.
“Had it been it’s one of my daughters they did that to, how do I feel? So I don’t know. Anything government want to do, everything is in their hands.
