Fire guts Lagos Blue Line track

Fire on Saturday gutted a section of the Lagos Blue Line track near the Eko Bridge in Lagos Island.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, disclosed this on his X.com handle @gboyegakosile,.

He said the incident occurred at 4:12 p.m. on Saturday.

The governor spokesman added that a team of safety and emergency personnel had been deployed to the scene to put off the inferno.

Akoshile wrote: “Lagosians in that area can go about their business peacefully as the situation is under control.

“Kindly await further details on the operations of the train from @Lamataonline.”
