At least four people died, and two others were injured in an auto crash in Kogi State on Monday.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Mr. Samuel Oyedeji, confirmed the incident to journalists on Tuesday in Lokoja.

He said an articulated truck was involved in the accident which occurred at 7:20 p.m., along the Lokoja-Okene road, where the vehicle crashed into the concrete road divide.

Oyedeji blamed the accident on a brake failure.

He said: “Unfortunately, four people were already dead when we got there, while two others sustained serious injuries and bruises.

“The two persons who sustained fractures were rushed to the Honey Gold Hospital for medical attention.”

“The bodies of the dead victims were taken to the mortuary of the Federal Teaching Hospital in Lokoja.”
