Gov Idris presents N580bn 2025 budget estimate to Kebbi Assembly

The Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Wednesday, presented the 2025 budget proposal of N580 billion to the State House of Assembly for approval.

The governor, who christened the appropriation bill as “Budget of Economic and Infrastructural Consolidation,” said the sum of N453.017 billion was earmarked as capital expenditure and N127.3 billion as recurrent spending in the budget.

He added that the state was expecting N235.2 billion as statutory allocation from the federation account and internally generated revenue (IGR) of N25.9 billion.

Idris noted with satisfaction that the state’s internally generated revenue had steadily improved under his watch.

According to him, the budget seeks to enhance agriculture and mineral resources, social welfare of workers and retirees, improving critical infrastructure as well as youth and women empowerment.

He noted that the budget would also improve governance and institutional reforms amongst other sectors.

The governor expressed delight that the Federal Government had finally handed over the construction of the Koko-Dabai-Mahuta road to the state government and the people of the state that the construction would be flagged off soon.
