Gunmen abduct FRSC officer in Benue

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Wednesday abducted a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer identified as Insp. Nathaniel Kumashe in Benue State.

The FRSC Spokesperson in the state, SRC Ngozi Ahula, confirmed the news to journalists on Thursday in Makurdi.

Ahula said the officer, currently serving in Wannue, Tarka Local Government Area of the state, was abducted at about 10:00 p.m., in his country home in Tse Aboh, Uchi-Mbakor in Tarka LGA, shortly after returning from his late cousin’s wake-keep.

“The armed men fired gunshots to scare his family members and neighbours before taking him away,” the spokesperson added.
