Gunmen kill police officer, abduct two Chinese nationals
Gunmen on Thursday evening killed a police inspector and took away his rifle in Cross River State.
The spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force, Zone six Nelson Okpabi, confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday in Makurdi.
He added that the attackers also kidnapped two Chinese nationals and a Nigerian at the Marksino quarry camp in Akamkpa local government area of the state.

The spokesman said: “The hoodlums gained entrance into the quarry premises following a security breach by a civilian worker at the gate.
“The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone six, AIG Jonathan Towuru has ordered a manhunt for the attackers.
“He also directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Zonal Criminal Investigation Department to proceed immediately to the scene while coordinated efforts were in progress to clamp down on the hoodlums, release the victims unhurt and bring perpetrators to justice.”
