Impunity thrives because there are no real consequences for those in positions of power —Mr Macaroni
Nigerian content creator and actor Debo Adedayo Adebowale, popularly known in music circles as Mr. Macaroni, has taken to social media to lament the lack of law and order in Nigeria.
The vocal entertainer cum activist who lamented the situation in a post shared on his X handle stated that impunity thrives because there are no real consequences for those in positions of power.
Mr. Macaroni, who was reacting to the six-month suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, noted that there is a lack of accountability in the country.

He wrote, ‘‘It’s not as if these countries that we call “Saner climes” are not corrupt oo. The difference between these countries and Nigeria is the sense of accountability, at the very least. In Nigeria, there is no regard for law and order.
Mr Macaroni also drew attention to the misuse of authority in a variety of fields, including the legislature and security services, highlighting how riches and connections protect people from the law.
‘‘From the impunity in the senate to the shamelessness and abuse of power by security agents to the total lack of regard for the Nigerian people, everyone is free to act as irresponsibly as they wish so far they have power or money. The real problem we have is the zero consequence for actions.’’ He added.
