I’ve never lied against anyone, Dele Farotimi asserts as he regains freedom
Lawyer and human rights advocate, Dele Farotimi, has been released from the correctional centre in Ekiti State.
Farotimi was released on Tuesday morning after meeting his bail conditions.
Recall that Last week Friday, at a magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti, the state granted Farotimi bail conditions, including a N30 million bond, two sureties, one of whom must be a property owner, a submission of Farotimi’s passport and a prohibition of Farotimi granting media interviews once released.
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi had last week offered to stand in as his surety.

Legal luminary and educationist, Afe Babalola had seen to his detention owing to claims of being defamed in Farotimi’s book: Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
His detention had generated concerns among individuals and groups who called for his release.
Speaking to journalists after his release, Farotimi said he had never had any course to lie against anyone in his life
He added that whatever he had said about someone or an institution is true.
