‘Kindergarten propaganda’ – Atiku reacts to report he took money from Sanwo-Olu before 2023 election

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has debunked reports he collected money from the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his 2023 election campaign.

He made the clarification in a statement issued on Thursday by his media aide Paul Ibe.

Atiku was reacting to claims in some quarters that the governor gave him money for his 2023 presidential election campaign.

He described the insinuations as a lie and kindergarten propaganda.

The Peoples Democrat Party (PDP) chieftain stressed that he did not know Sanwo-Olu and had never met him before.

The statement read: “How is it possible for an Atiku that did not know and had no connection with Sanwo-Olu to be having a transaction with him involving the exchange of money – let alone during the presidential election of 2023 in which his boss was a contestant?

To what end would that be?”

Atiku urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to make public the outcome of its investigation, since it had been dragged into it.

He called for immediate halt to what he described as a voyage of misadventure and campaign of calumny against his person
