Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Princess Mojisola Meranda, has debunked rumours making the rounds that she is considering resigning following the crisis that has rocked the House since former Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa was impeached.

Meranda who was reacting to rumours on social media platforms that she was contemplating throwing in the towel, described them as lies from the pit of hell as she is presently in her office doing her job as the Speaker of the House.

The Speaker who made the clarification in a statement on Wednesday through her Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, insisted that she has not resigned and has no plans of doing so.

“I’m in the office. The speaker is in the office. I don’t know where that is coming from,” Ajiboye said.

“It is a lie from the pit of hell. There is no truth in the story. I am doing my work as the CPS, the Speaker is her office as we speak and everybody is talking about his or her business.

‘We do not know where the story is coming from. The Speaker has not resigned and there is no plan for that,” the statement added.
