Legendary Greek singer Marinella suffers severe stroke on stage during concert
A famous singer from Greece was admitted to intensive care on Wednesday night, having suffered a stroke during a concert at the historic Odeon theater located beneath the Acropolis in Athens.
Videos taken from the audience saw the 86-year-old folk singer Marinella collapsing on stage during the Herodes Atticus memorial event, which took place in the Roman-era Odeon.
The disturbing scene which sent cold shivers down the spines of her fans happened right after the start of the concert when she sang the chorus of one of her biggest hits titled “Me and You”.

Featuring a big orchestra and renowned Greek singer Antonis Remos, the music concert was a tribute to the long career of Marinella who is touted as the grand dame of Greek folklore music.
A statement from the hospital where she has been admitted revealed that Marinella, whose career has spanned over six decades had suffered a “serious vascular stroke” and was in intensive care.
