Nigeria’s Super Eagles duo of Ademola Lookman and Victor Boniface are in the running for the African Best Player of the Year award.

The forwards have been on the trends table on Thursday, with many pushing for the continental football body, CAF to announce the awards shortlist.

Atalanta’s Lookman had a remarkable season, contributing to the team’s UEFA Europa League victory and earning the title of the club Player of the Year.

Leverkusen’s Boniface was instrumental in his club’s success, helping secure titles in the Bundesliga, German Cup, and German Super Cup.

Both players have also been beneficial to the national team, with Lookman scoring goals for the Eagles during this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Ivory Coast.

CAF is yet to release the shortlist for the various award categories, but it is almost a giving that either of the Nigerian men will take over from Victor Osimhen as Africa’s men’s best player!
