Man caught vandalizing Jibowu bridge jailed four months

A Magistrate Court in Oshodi, Lagos, has sentenced a man to four months in prison for attempting to vandalize the Jibowu Bridge.

The suspect was apprehended by officials of the Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) while attempting to dismantle screws and nuts from the bridge structure, potentially compromising its safety.

KAI Marshal Olaniyi Cole confirmed the arrest and commended the swift action of his team in preventing significant infrastructure damage.

“The suspect was promptly arraigned at the Oshodi Magistrate Court, where he was found guilty and sentenced to four months imprisonment,” Cole stated.

He highlighted the critical importance of vigilance in protecting public infrastructure and warned against acts of sabotage.

“This incident serves as a clear warning to those contemplating vandalism of public property,” Cole said. “The government remains committed to safeguarding critical infrastructure and ensuring public safety.”
