Man jailed five years for fondling teenager’s breast in Lagos
Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, Ikeja, on Tuesday sentenced a 21-year-old man, Damilare Olanrewaju, to five years’ imprisonment for fondling a 15-year-old girl’s breasts in public.
The judge also convicted Olanrewaju for sexually assaulting the girl by caressing her buttocks with his hands.
The convict had pleaded guilty to an amended two-count charge of indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault.
The judge his judgment held that the court was satisfied that the convict understood the plea bargain agreement and was satisfied by the advice of his counsel.
He said: “I have found you guilty of indecent act and sexual assault contrary to sections 134 and 263 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
“You are hereby sentenced to two years on count one and three years imprisonment on count two.

“The sentences shall run consecutively.
“The convict must undergo counseling through the Lagos state Domestic and Violence Agency (DSVA) in line with his plea bargain agreement.”
The judge added that the convict’s name be registered in the state’s sexual offences register.
Earlier, the State Counsel, Ms. Inumidun Solarin, informed the court that the attorney-general had approved a five-year sentence for the convict.
Solarin submitted that the convict publicly assaulted the girl in public, fondled her breasts, and sexually assaulted her by caressing her buttocks with his hands on December 22, 2022.
