Man kills mother, sister in Ekiti

Police operatives in Ekiti have arrested one Victor Lorjaal for the alleged murder of his mother and elder sister in the state.

The spokesman for the state police command, Mr. Sunday Abutu, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti.

He said the suspect allegedly hacked to death with a cutlass the mother, simply identified as Mrs. Victoria Lorjaal, and the sister, Brenda Lorjaal, on March 25.

Abutu said: “The deceased’s child told the police, his brother arrived on the farm, suddenly left him and went to meet their mother and sister, where they were working.

“A few minutes later, he heard his mother screaming for help, but before he could get to them, his brother had allegedly killed the two women and fled the scene.

“The state’s Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, had ordered a thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident and commiserated with the family of the deceased.

“The suspect will be charged in court at the end of the investigation,” the spokesman said.
