Man linked with terror attacks in Ivory Coast arrested

Authorities in Ivory Coast have arrested a man linked with attacks at the Grand Bassam Hotel which witnessed the killing of 19 people at the beach resort in March.

Security operatives say the man is suspected of transporting weapons in the fatal attack that sent shock waves throughout the West African country.

“The driver who transported the weapons was arrested Thursday. He is currently being interrogated in the police station,” A national TV presenter said.

No other details were given. Reuters could not immediately verify the statement and the police were not available for comment.

About 17 people have been arrested in connection with the attacks, although the suspected ringleader, Kounta Dallah, remains at large.
