Maria Carey reacts after losing mother and sister same day

Popular American R&B singer Mariah Carey has reacted after unfortunately losing both her mother and her sister on the same day to the cold hands of death.

In a statement cited by People Magazine, the musician disclosed that she was able to spend the last week with her mother before she sadly passed away to the great beyond.

The 55-year-old Grammy winner expressed her profound heartbreak over their passing and also thanked her fans for their love, support, and respect for her privacy as she mourns.

“My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.

“I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time,” the statement reads.

But Carey, who as her 2020 memoir revealed, had a strained connection with her mother, withheld the reason for their deaths as well as the exact date of their passing.
