Kylian Mbappe propelled Real Madrid back to the summit of La Liga with a brace in their comeback 2-1 win against Villarreal on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Villarreal stay fifth in the standings, trailing the Champions League spots by five points following consecutive league defeats.

Mbappe now has 20 league goals this season, just one behind La Liga top scorer Robert Lewandowski.

Having endured a tough start to life in Madrid, Mbappe has firmly found his feet and will be essential to Real’s push for both La Liga and Champions League success.
