Nigerian content creator, skit maker, and activist Adebowale ‘Debo’ Adebayo, aka Mr Macaroni, has lamented Nigerian politicians’ persistent looting of public funds.

In a post shared on his official X page (formerly Twitter), the award-winning thespian said that it is unfortunate enough that politicians’ actions have zero consequences.

It is excruciating, Mr. Macaroni said, that those whose purse is being plundered still stand up for insensitive politicians who don’t give a damn about them.

He wrote, “Nigerian politicians have stolen and are still stealing billions and trillions from the nation’s purse. Unfortunate enough as it is that there are zero consequences for these actions, it is torturous that the people whose treasury is being looted continue to defend politicians who do not care about their existence.”

Mr. Macaroni highlighted how the stolen money could have been used to improve the lives of Nigerians and voiced his utter shock at the extent of corruption among Nigerian leaders.

“How can you comfortably loot public funds enough to change the standard of living of millions of the people you ought to serve selflessly? What type of greed and wickedness is this?” he asked.
