Nasarawa lawmaker dumps NNPPP for APC
The lawmaker representing the Doma South constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Musa Ibrahim, has dumped the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Danladi Jatau, announced Ibrahim’s defection during the plenary on Wednesday in Lafia.
Jatau thanked the lawmaker for his wise decision to join the APC in the state.
The speaker promised to provide all-inclusive leadership in the House.
On his part, the APC chairman in the state, Dr. Aliyu Bello, described the defection of the lawmaker as a “homecoming.”
He assured the lawmaker of equal privileges, rights, and treatment in the party.
On his part, Ibrahim said he dumped NNPP because of the crisis rocking the party at the national level.
” I write to inform you of my immediate resolution to defect from my former party, NNPP to APC in Nassarawa State.
” As a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly I’m duty bound to make laws that will impact on the lives of my constituents,” he said.
With this development, APC now has 12 seats, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has nine, and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has three in that order.
