Nasarawa to hold local council election November 2
The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) will conduct in th 13 local government areas of the state on November 2.
The NASIEC Chairman, Ayuba Wandai-Usman, disclosed this at a press briefing on Wednesday in Lafia, the state capital.
He reaffirmed the commission’s readiness to work with the media to enhance the democratic process in state and Nigeria at large.
“The chairmanship and councillorship elections will be held on Saturday, 2nd November 2024. Nomination papers for the elections are to be submitted at the commission’s headquarters, Democracy House, Shendam Road, Lafia,” the chairman said.

He also the time table for the election with party primaries and the resolution of disputes set to begin on October 11.
Campaigns by political parties fare expected to commence on October 18 while the publication of the final list of nominated candidates is scheduled for October 29.
Wandai-Usman urged the people of Nasarawa to support the commission by turning out in large numbers to participate in the elections.
The last local government election in Nasarawa took place in October 2021.
