The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with various partners, has received 392 Nigerian returnees from the Niger Republic at the Immigration Training School on Airport Road, Kano.

The arrival of the second batch of returnees was announced on NEMA’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday. The group landed at approximately 3:05 PM, where they were profiled and registered to ensure proper documentation and access to support services.

The returnees included 176 adult males, 122 adult females, and 94 children—comprising 78 boys and 16 girls.

The repatriation process involved significant support from partners such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Nigerian Immigration Services, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

In a related effort, the Lagos Territorial Office of NEMA and its partners had earlier received 148 Nigerian returnees from Niger in November. That group, facilitated by the IOM Mission in Niger, included 120 adult males, nine adult females, 10 male children, seven female children, and two infants.

NEMA emphasized its commitment to ensuring the safe return and reintegration of Nigerians in distress, as well as fostering collaboration with international and domestic agencies to address migration-related challenges.
