The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, on Friday, reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to its “deepening relationship” with China, praising the Asian nation for maintaining a cordial relationship with Nigeria over the past few decades.

Speaking at a reception commemorating the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China in Abuja, Abbas emphasized the significance of the recent Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, highlighting the agreements reached between Nigeria and China as a “beacon of hope” for continued collaboration.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday evening by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Musa Krishi.

“The agreements signed with President Bola Tinubu demonstrate a renewed commitment to strengthening our bilateral ties,” Abbas stated. “These agreements will pave the way for further investments in critical areas such as energy production and technology transfer, vital for Nigeria’s sustainable development.” Abbas assured that the National Assembly would provide the necessary legislative framework to support the implementation of these agreements.
