NNPP dissolves executive committees in Bauchi, Oyo, 3 others
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has dissolved the party’s executive committees in Bauchi, Benue, Gombe, Oyo and Taraba States.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja the NNPP National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, said the dissolution affected the party’s entire executive structure from ward to state levels in the affected states.
He said the action was part of the resolutions reached at the end of the NWC emergency meeting held on Thursday in Abuja.
Johnson said the measures were to reposition and revitalise NNPP in the affected states.
According to him, the dissolved state executive committees will be replaced with caretaker committees in line with the party’s constitution.
He said: “The decision was pursuant to Article 14.2.1 (iv, v) and 15.2.1 (xvi) of the party’s constitution as amended on April 6, 2024.
“The dissolved executive committees shall in accordance with the party’s constitution be replaced by caretaker committees, which will be announced in a few days, for the stipulated period of time.”
