NSCDC arrests suspected pipeline vandal, 4 others in Bauchi

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a suspected pipeline vandal and four other criminals in Bauchi State.

The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Oloyede Oyerinde, paraded the suspects on Saturday in Bauchi.

He said the agency operatives arrested the suspects for criminal misappropriation, rape and theft in different locations across the state.

Oyerinde added that the operatives nabbed two suspects for motorcycle theft at a lodge in Magama Gumau, Toro Local Government Area of the state.

“One suspect (name withheld) was arrested for alleged pipeline vandalism and illegal extraction of kerosene in Alkaleri.

“The corps operatives in Alkaleri detained a 38-year-old man for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl on February 26.

“On March 4, they detained a 22-year-old man for siphoning diesel from a 150KVA generator meant for powering street lights in Bauchi metropolis.

“The suspects will be charged to court at the end of the investigations,” the commandant stated.
