American artificial intelligence (AI) research organization OpenAI is gearing up for global expansion after opening new offices in Brussels, Paris, and Singapore.

The company’s global expansion ambitions include adding the newly commissioned OpenAI offices to its current facilities in Tokyo, London, San Francisco, and Dublin.

An official told TechCrunch that OpenAI has begun assembling a team in Singapore, which will act as a center for assisting partners and clients in the Asia Pacific area.

Additionally, OpenAI announced that managing director Oliver Jay, who was previously Dropbox’s head of APAC and LATAM and Asana’s chief revenue officer, will supervise international operations and support worldwide expansion from Singapore.

By the end of this year, the company hopes to create an office in Singapore, and it is presently recruiting engineers. OpenAI opened its first office in Tokyo in April, and this will be its second office location in Asia.

“Singaporeans are some of the highest per capita users of ChatGPT worldwide, with the number of weekly active users in Singapore doubling since the beginning of the year,” OpenAI said in a statement.
