Organisers explain real reason Portable was stopped from performing at Ibadan event

The organisers of a bespoke musical jamboree in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State, have explained why controversial street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was prevented from performing at the event.

Portable was scheduled to perform overnight at the concert of popular Fuji musician Alhaji Taye Currency, but according to the organisers, he was not allowed to mount the stage due to safety reasons.

Jarule Entertainment (the organisers) stated that concerns regarding the singer’s safety were valid, particularly in light of his previous, notorious remarks about the City of Ibadan.

The organizers decided it would be best to remove the musician from the concert roster completely in order to safeguard Portable and other concertgoers.

“We spoke to the commissioner of police about the matter and even signed an undertaking. We were provided with adequate security at the venue but we got reports that some people were still asking around for Portable’s whereabouts and lodging in Ibadan. It was then decided that he {Portable} stay off the show altogether”. The organisers revealed in a statement.

Recall how Portable brought up the fact that people in Ibadan, Oyo State, needed basic roofing accessories in their homes during his recent social media feud with his ex-lover, Queen Dami, the wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo.

Even though Portable has expressed regret at his comments, it appears that many people, particularly in Oyo State, were not pleased by his scathing remarks.
